Grading scale and Assessment:
The class grading system and scale is as follows:
Each assignment and test is graded on a "total points achieved" scale.  That means you will get credit for the points you got correct out of the total possible.  This amount will then be put into your total point’s pool.  The letter grade will be found by dividing the total of your pooled points into the total number of points possible.  This will give you a decimal based number, which can then be converted into a letter grade.  The grading scale is as follows:
100    - 90   A
89     - 80   B
79     - 70   C
69     - 60   D
59 and below  F
Missed/late assignments:
If you miss a class, lose your paper and/or need to make up an assignment you must get the assignment from me either:
the next Tiger Time,
the morning you return (7:30 – 7:45)
the end of your next class period with me.
After school (2:50 – 3:00) unless I have a meeting
I will date it as to when the paper is due.  All assignments are to be turned in when I tell you, list on the website or write on the board.  If you are late the following will apply:
Each day it is late you will lose 20 points or 20% whichever is more (hence after 5 days you will lose 100% of the assignment).  A “0” will be put in the gradebook until the assignment is turned in.
Late assignments will not be accepted for a grade after the quarter and a “0” will be permanent on the final day of the quarter.
No late or lost work will be accepted five (5) school days before the start of finals and five (5) school days before the end of the quarter.
This also means that either you or your parent/guardian should call into school on the day of the absence and get your assignments!!!
As we only have a classroom set of textbooks, you will also need to check out a textbook from the library to complete some assignments.  A list will be brought around and I will write down what we did and what is expected of you upon your return.
  At the end of the semester please don’t ask me to give you a makeup assignment or extra points to try and get you up a grade level.  I don’t give extra points and whining only hurts the ears and really irritates your fellow students.
